In the 1930s and 1940s,  there was an ongoing friendly competition between the local towns. Grandy had its own teams. There were both women and men teams. It seems that our elders understood that there was a difference.

Long before the "Title IX" Federal mandate for equal opportunity for women in sports, the opportunity was there.  Women who wanted to play at sports, played. Others supported the team effort.

What the heck. Organize and play. It seemed to work quite well.
